VP8SGI South George Islands : the chase ! #1

Hi all, here we go for the next chase of the Intrepid DX Group, now QRV from South George Islands IOTA AN-007 !
This is simply the Most Wanted DXCC #8, after bringing us the #3 at South Sandwich Islands...
Yesterday I could log them on 12M, 15M & 17M CW for an All Time New One, my worked DXCC #317 & my worked IOTA #505 ! (IOTA #504 was HS0ZJF/9 from AS-126 worked on 20M CW). I missed them on 10M CW, too weak !
Today, I worked (twice because I didn't received confirmation) them on 15M RTTY for a new mode...

I missed them again on 10M, SSB this time, too heavy QSB !
To be continued, good luck to all !

K5P Palmyra Island, it's over !

Hi, that's it K5P is QRT !
Not big signals here during their stay but I managed to add the 30M CW on January 25th !
I also heard them on 80M CW but QSYed to 160M when their signal was at his "best"... It will be for the next activity maybe ^^
Anyway, very happy to have logged an ATNO, many thanks to the team , have a safe back trip home guys !!

VP8STI South Sandwich Islands : the chase ! #3

Hi all, at this time we still don't know if the VP8STI adventure will end earlier because of wind & antennas damages... WX conditions were very difficult there.
Some others QSOs were added since my last post :
1/ My 30M RTTY QSO was OK...
2/ On January 22nd, I could add the 30M CW as new slot & 40M CW as new band in less than one hour !
3/ On January 24th, I could add the 12M CW & 10M SSB as new bands in 3 minutes !!!

For 80M, as they planned to be on low bands during their last nights, I don't know if they still have antenna for, so wait & see...
They are actually still active despite of Cluster comments.
Anyway, it was already a GREAT DX-Pedition to chase !
Good luck to all...

K5P Palmyra Atoll in the log !

Hey ! Finally it happened today ^^
A "correct" 535 RST around 1730UTC coming from Palmyra Atoll was heard in SW France !
I was looking at a large split but finally easily worked K5P up 1.4kHz...

ALL TIME NEW ONE ! K5P is my worked DXCC #316 and my worked IOTA #503.
I don't know if I'll be able to hear them on another band but this unique QSO is already precious ^^
Good luck to all !

VP8STI South Sandwich islands : the chase ! #2

Hi, the chase is going on... ^^
2 more QSOs yesterday with 17M SSB & 20M SSB...

This morning I worked them on 30M RTTY but I got no "F8DZY TU" reception, so I have to wait next log update in order to be sure... It would be a new band & a new mode !

I listen to them also on 40M CW but working NA & JA, so not for today, sun is up now !
Maybe some new slots in RTTY before leaving to job, ifno we'll see in the next days...
Good luck to all !

VP8STI South Sandwich Islands : the chase ! #1

Hi all, finally VP8STI is on air !
Really disappointed by the weak signals of K5P (not in log right now here), it is a pure happiness to hear VP8STI loud sigs !!
On January 18th, I could work them on 15M CW + 15M SSB & 17M CW for an ALL TIME NEW ONE !
It is my worked DXCC #315 and my worked IOTA #502...
On January 19th, I worked them on 20M CW for a new band.

To be continued... Good luck to all !
